Peace Boulevard

On the subject of cleanliness, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"Islam is clean, so cleanse yourselves, for only the cleansed shall enter Paradise." (At-Tabardini).

"Stay clean as best you can, for God established Islam upon cleanliness." (Ar-Rafi't)

I also heard from the Imam on last Friday's Jummah at San Jose downtown mosque that cleanliness is half of the faith. Obviously, Pilandok is missing the other half of his faith.

  1. It will take time before Pilandok learn cleanliness, as you have said that even in your childhood Agus River used to be the toilet of the people near the river and our lake was fondly branded by people as the biggest toilet in the world. I think the first step is to educate our people by information drive, second is for the local government to make a resolution to penalized people dumping garbages and other dirts in our lake and Agus river as well, and third is the participation of the religious and business sectors for the campaing.

2. Sayana ko miyarataon a ginawa akn.

I still vividly remember when I was a kid, when the "life" of Marawi City was the Agus and ranao (lake). People used the river from early morning to sun-set. There was no National Power Plant in what used to be a beautiful and pictureque Marawi City Hall and Officer's (tree) Line. And the river's current was very strong.

Bangolo then was a vibrant commercial street. It even has a hotel and some nice restaurants. There was a club in the Signal Hill and an airport in Landing area (within the city).

Now a days, almost everything in Ranao is ugly.

By the way, if someone can send me pictures of the old Dansalan then I can post them here so Pilandok can see how beautiful Dansalan was or so he will know how stupid he became.

  3. Cleanliness should start at one's self, around family and in the house and sorroundings.

So Mranao na apiya anda dun pundoda.

Miyabasa gawii mambo na di mangokot na miyapno a pali a di magibol.

Ayabo a kapkatanor a solud a walay na amay ka adn a miyakapanik a bisita. So basurahan na apiya anda iplambug.

Mapaparatiyaya a Muslim ogaid na so kaplimpiyo a inisogo o agama Islam na bobokulun nyan, ayapun o ba adn a siyap iyan ko environment iyan.

  4. How can we speak of 'cleanliness' to the outside world if within ourselves we have not found it or that we refuse to have it because we want to protect our so called 'principles'? Cleanliness is not just the physical form. There are other higher arenas specifically, the spiritual being of a person. Once he has fully embodied the essence of a true muslim, cleanliness is second nature to him. As what the Prophet (S.A.W.) once uttered that cleanliness is next to Godliness.

  5. Mga Pilandok,we are now encumbered with a bigger and worser problem---the eventual presence of the Balikatan exercises in our immediate locality.Every sane pilandok must ask,"why are 'they' here?" Is there a dire need to require or at the least, allow foreign intervention in our affairs. Among all Muslim areas in the Philippines, ours is the most civilized, most developed, and most peaceful. Since time immemorial, we have existed and carved ourselves in all the corners of the country as very self-reliant,enterprising and resourceful people. Thus, it is quite a shame to be subjected to other groups of people. It is ironic that despite their noble efforts in helping peoples in Basilan and Jolo, these places have become more ravaged by war, economic stagnation and civil unrest. Then political lord in Basilan met his early mortal death from his enemies. And then multimillionaire governor in Jolo met his political death last 2004 local elections. Unlike the former his taste of governorship was only for one term. Since everything comes from the Will of Allah, they might have earned their fates for approving the balikatan exercises against the wishes of their constituents. It is my pervent hope and prayer alongwith the other concerned pilandok that our leaders will be more tempted with the calls and obligation for upright moral governance (not with the satisfaction of self-interests)Do not let others exploit our natural resources. The opening of the Agus 1 before should have been enough to teach us and learn from its bitter aftermath.

  6. Actually, 'they' were interested with the gold and platinum hidden by explorers before World War II in Basilan and Jolo. Now,they are interested with the supposedly presence of natural oil in Busra. They would never throw millions of dollars if they cannot profit billions and billions of dollars. They succeeded in a great nation as Iraq. Ranao is chicken to them. Pilandok! Prove them wrong!
