...for all my friends.
Giginawai Tano
Words and Music by Amomoai
Assallam wallaikhom
Rkano langon
A manga bangsa ko
Sa pangmpong a ranao
'pkadali akn
Skano langon
Anda pman i kapaka
Pamagilaya tano
Chorus:
hmmmm...
Giginawai tano
Lipatan so rata a ginawa
Ka pkaranon kabo
Pka gagawan kabo
Pka dali ika bo
So pagaringka
Pririlai tano
Mga pagari ko
Ka ditano dn katawan
I kaona rktano
L'nganingka sa gagaw
So pagaringka
Ka mada skanian
Na dadn a pagaringka
(Chorus and Fade)
Sa basa English...
Let's be friends
Peace be upon you
To all of you
My people (or nation)
In (Greater) Ranao
I miss
All of you
When can we
See each other again?
hmmmm...
Let's be friends
Forget the heartaches
Because you'd long for
Because you get lonely for
Because you'd miss
Your friend
Let's forgive one another
My friends
Because we just don't know
Who'll go next
Give all your love
To your friend
Because when he/she goes
Your friend is gone forever

nice lyrics. quite true, nothing is ever certain in this world. where, how and when . . . we have no idea. in this fast pace world we live in now, we can get lost in our busy schedules. lesser and lesser time is spent on things which should really matter . . . . . keeping in touch, is one. because we're so busy, we have no time for a family member, or a friend. we often times, give them last priority, knowing they will understand anyways. this attitude can go on and on, not until something happens. GOD forbid sudden premature losses. when this happens, we look back and explore the "what ifs" and what we could have done . . . . but then, it's too late . . . . . . there's no more second chances, the person is gone . . . . . . .
ReplyDeleteso we just have to be in the present and try as much to make ourselves available to family and friends we hold dear. who knows one day, even if we're very much available, the need is gone forever.
you got it right, anony. i have a friend who i did not see the last time i went home. i heard that he is very sick now. i think, i have not given him enough "tabang" the last time we met and i have not really told him how much he's friendship means to me. i'm really sad for him.
ReplyDeleteenjoy the company of your friends and be nice, give all you can, because you never know that's the last time you see each other.
if i was singing this song to other goup of people, lagid o manga bisaya or taga ilog, i am sure this song will get more than just 1 comment. unfortunately, we're talking to muted Pilandoks...
just give it time . . . . . if you think most pilandoks are in mute mode right now, perhaps tomorrow or the day after, they will rise and shine! continue to be patient, persistent and passionate. that day will come when pilandoks from all over will get tired of the silence, and gradually start expressing their thoughts and opinions on issues close to their hearts and minds. i bet issues and concerns are aplenty. just give it time to ripen . . . . when the right time comes, most will be willing to come out in the open and air their thoughts, their dreams and aspirations. perhaps given all 3Ts in place, all pilandoks will participate, will stand up and be counted, so to speak.
ReplyDeletebtw, by 3Ts, i mean: timing, temperance and tact . . . . . in any order.
a brief comment on what you wrote: "if i was singing this song to other group of people, lagid o mga bisaya o taga ilog. i am sure this song will get more than just 1 comment. but we are talking to muted pilandoks . . . "
ReplyDeletei find the comment unfair as it's premature to say. reality check: not all have easy access to the computer nor extra time on their side.
most people are busy with the bare essentials: food on the table, clothes to warm, roof so as not to get wet and be burnt by the scorching sun.
in short, each has his/her own story to tell, we don't know the urgent and pressing problems they may be wrestling with right this very moment.
the term "muted" to me, connotes indifference, unmindfulness, calousness . . . . a negative symptom.
my 2 cents worth: if the muteness is a symptom, then shouldn't we look deeper, search and unearth the root cause? yes, it can be systemic . . . . .
no offense, but a sweeping term as "muted" is a bit tacky and definitely tactless.
(sorry if am coming in strong, 'woke up on the wrong side of the bed and i still have to drink my espresso to perk me up.)
